Black Employee Network (BEN) Scholarship Program


The mission of the Union Pacific Railroad Black Employee Network (BEN) is to recruit, retain and advance the careers of African-American employees within Union Pacific by promoting and facilitating both personal and professional growth, and by working with Union Pacific Senior Leadership toward an awareness of diversity issues. In accordance with the mission, the Black Employee Network Scholarship Committee administers two scholarship programs.

Jack Koraleski Scholarships

TheĀ Union Pacific Railroad Black Employee Network Jack Koraleski Scholarships are provided to assist African American students in defraying the cost of higher education. Two students are awarded scholarships in the amount of $5000 and recipients are chosen on the basis of scholastic ability, leadership, and community involvement. Personal or family financial situations can be a factor in consideration of eligibility and in awarding the scholarship. All decisions are within the discretion of the Black Employee Network Scholarship Committee and are final. Current employees and dependents of current employees are ineligible.
