The New York Times College Scholarship Program was established in 1999 as a way to support high achieving yet financially underprivileged high school students from the greater New York City community.
The selected students represent all five boroughs, and their diverse academic interests range from technology and science to liberal arts and journalism.
Funding for the program comes from a wide range of private sources, including major contributions from New York Times subscribers.
Each award recipient will receive a partial four-year college scholarship, mentoring and a summer internship at The New York Times.
