Doing Good

Doing Good is The Stafford Foundation’s program to inspire and empower all people to lend a hand and make a difference in the world. Jesus Christ taught us to treat others in need as you would want to be treated. This message can profoundly change the world across political, cultural, religious, racial and economic lines if everyone takes some action – no matter how small –  to do good.

The People’s Inauguration Project celebrating the first inauguration of President Barack Obama was the genesis of Doing Good for The Stafford Foundation. In January 2009, the Foundation welcomed hundreds of individuals from among America’s most disadvantaged communities for three days of premiere Inaugural festivities. An outpouring of inquiries and requests to help others followed this event and Doing Good was born! Dr. Bill Cosby joined the campaign in 2010 creating a public service announcement shown nationwide. Get Involved with Doing Good

There are many ways to get involved with Doing Good. We encourage you to:

Volunteer

Find local volunteer opportunities through the Volunteer Match database. Just enter your zip code to get started.

Also consider volunteering on the street where you live. Take a good look around your neighborhood and think about who might need your help and what you could do that would be appreciated. An elderly neighbor might appreciate a visit or some help with yardwork. Your church or community center is also a great resource for volunteer activities.
